Ex-RSS chief Sudarshan does a Gadkari

Former RSS chief KS Sudarshan did a Gadkari invoking "son-in-law" term to target Congress leaders over issues relating to minorities.

Sudarshan asked are minorities the "son-in-law" of prime minister Manmohan Singh for his 2006 remark advocating that minority communites, especially Muslims, should have first claim on resources so that benefits of development reach them equitably.

"Minorities kya unkey damad lagte hain"," (is minority community is his son-in-law) Sudarshan asked yesterday while referring to the 2006 remark of the prime minister made during the 52nd meeting of the National Development Council (NDC) that plans for minorities, particularly Muslims, must have the first claim on resources so that benefits of development reach them equitably.

Sudarshan was addressing a national seminar organized by the Dharampal Shoudh Peeth here in the presence of former BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi yesterday.

The ex-RSS chief further asked whether all the people of the country have no equal right on the nation’s resources? What was the need for the prime minister to make such a statement, he asked?

Gadkari had recently criticised Congress party leaders over the delay in hanging Afzal Guru and asked whether the Parliament attack death row convict was their "son-in-law". The remarks had triggered a controversy inviting ridicule and a strong reaction from the Congress.

Disapproving Sudarshan’s remark, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman JP Dhanopia has termed RSS-BJP leadership as "mentally bankrupt".
