With party supremo M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi and party lawmaker A Raja presently lodged at Delhi's Tihar Jail, and another leader Dayanidhi Maran forced to quit the Union cabinet in connection with the 2G scam, the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) top brass will hold a crucial meet in Coimbatore today to decide the party's future strategy.

According to reports, the DMK lawmakers will decide on the party's future alliance with the Congress Party, and also discuss the party's dismal performance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.

Maran resigned from the Union cabinet on July 7 after coming under the Supreme Court's scanner in the 2G scam.

Supporters of Karunanidhi's younger son MK Stalin will seek his elevation to a new post - that of working president which would make Stalin No. 2 in the party. But the camp led by his elder brother Alagiri is gearing up to scuttle the move, NDTV quoted sources, as saying.
