Chairman of Legislative Council, Sukharam Singh Yadav today directed the Uttar Pradesh government to inquire into the educational qualifications of Chairman of state Madarsa Education Board, Haji Rizwanul Haq.
The matter was raised during Question Hour by leader of the teachers' group Om Prakash Sharma, who sought to know the educational qualifications of Haq.

In its reply, Minister of State for Minority Welfare Anis Ahmad Khan said Haq had passed his high school examination in 1975 and intermediate in 1977 from UP Board. During the same period (1975-77) he was also a student of Madarsa Bahrul-uloom Ahle Sunnat as a student of Fazil.

When Sharma asked as to how the Madarsa Board chairman could enrol himself both in UP Board and a Madarsa, the minister could not give a satisfactory reply. Sharma said that one of his qualifications should be considered invalid as a person can not enrol himself in two different streams of education simultaneously.

Chairman of the Council Sukhram Singh Yadav directed the government to inquire into the education qualifications and make a statement in the House.
