A wooden portion of the city's historic Dilli Darwaja was damaged by an AMTS bus on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred when the bus was passing through the gate. Eyewitnesses said that the driver couldn't judge the distance of the bus from the right-hand side of the wooden gate, and collided with the frame of the gate.
A part of the frame came off, though the gate stands intact. The driver fled from the spot after the incident. No police complaint has been filed.
Dilli Darwaja was built in 1486, along with 12 other gates in the city.
