Congress General Secretary, Digvijay Singh today said that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should resign if he cannot control the land mafia in the state.

Reacting to Chouhan's statement that the land mafia was collecting funds to get him removed from his post, Singh told PTI that this only showed what kind of a chief minister he was.

He said that by issuing such a statement Chouhan had only confessed to his inability to tackle the land mafia in Madhya Pradesh.

"It does not behove him (Chouhan) to talk in this way.. He must resign," Singh said.

Dubbing Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya as the "biggest land mafia" in Madhya Pradesh, the senior Congress leader demanded that Chouhan should seek Vijaywargiya's resignation.
