Dera Sacha Sauda chief gets clean chit in murder case

A special CBI court today gave a clean chit to Sacha Sauda Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in the murder case of former Dera functionary Faqir Chand.

The CBI special magistrate Abdul Mazid gave this decision after it accepted the closure report filed by CBI in the case.

Faquir, a senior functionary of the sect, had been missing since 1991. The CBI had registered a murder case against the Dera chief and a few others in February on a complaint filed by Faquir's brother Ram Kumar Bishnoi.

The CBI in its closure report had stated that no evidence was found against the Dera chief in the case.

However, Bishnoi had pleaded before the that the CBI had not conducted the inquiry in a proper way, submitting that there were sufficient evidences available in this case.
