Dera head appears in Ranjit murder case

The Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh an accused in the Dera follower Ranjit Singh murder case today appeared in the CBI court at Ambala through video conferencing.
   
Elaborate security arrangements had been made by the district administration to avert any untoward incident in the wake of unrest amongst Dera followers after a fresh case of murder of a former dera manager Fakir Chand was registered against the Dera chief last month.
   
The entire route from the Dera premises to the court complex was heavily guarded by the local police and para-military forces.
    
However, a large number of Dera followers violated the prohibitory orders and assembled in hordes.
