Film-makers can now make their heroes and heroines sing around trees in MCD parks.

The cash-strapped civic body plans to earn some revenue by letting film or TV serial makers use the parks run by it for shooting on rent.

The idea came from Leader of MCD House Subhash Arya who made this proposal while finalising the civic body's budget for next fiscal at a meeting of the corporation today.

"I saw some shooting is going on at a park in my ward. I came to know that no permission was taken for the same. I told the Municipal Commissioner about us who contacted the producers and within two hours an amount of Rs five lakh was deposited with MCD. Allowing shooting in parks can be a revenue-earner for us," he said.
