Ganesh, a resident of Porsa village of Morena district of MP, had fired on Sonia Masi on November 24.
To hunt down the sharpshooter who killed eunuch Sonia De, the crime branch has sent a team to Madhya Pradesh.
After the arrest of three main accused involved in the murder, officials learned that Sanju masi and her husband Shahezad Chhipa had hired one Ganesh, a resident of Porsa village of Morena district of MP, to kill Sonia De on November 24.
Ganesh is one of the five main accused who orchestrated the murder of Sonia De. While three accused were nabbed by crime branch on Tuesday, one accused — Sanju masi herself — is under police watch.
The three arrested accused are Sanju Masi's husband Shahezad Chhipa, 25, a resident of Chhipawad in Jamalpur; Wasim aka Vasu Sipahi, 24, a resident of Laambi Sheri near Vasnat Rajab police chowki; and Gumansinh aka Renu Rajput, 25, a resident of Nava Naroda. Since Sanju masi is suffering from severe burns after the acid attack in 2006, police officials have kept her under watch at her residence in Amraiwadi.
After the arrest of the three, crime branch officials learned that Sonia's arch-rival Sanju masi had given Rs1 lakh to Shahezad and asked him to kill Sonia at any cost. Shahezad then contacted his friend, Gumansinh aka Renu Rajput, to arrange for a professional killer.
Renu took Shahezad to Porsa village in MP, and arranged a meeting with professional sharpshooter Ganesh.
On November 3, Ganesh came to Ahmedabad and stayed at Sanju masi's residence at the slum quarters of Amraiwadi area for 20 days. Since Sonia used to roam in her car, he couldn't find a chance to shoot her. Finally, on November 24 evening, Shahezad's informer Wasim told him that Sonia was near Rupalee Cinema.
Shahezad and Ganesh immediately came on a bike near the spot where Sonia was having pani puri on roadside. Ganesh pulled out his revolver and fired four bullets on Sonia. After collecting Rs2 lakh from Sanju masi, Shahezad and Ganesh fled to Porsa village.
On Wednesday, the crime branch obtained 10-day remand of all the three accused. According to officials, they want details about Ganesh's whereabouts. They are also yet to recover the weapon used in the murder. Crime branch is also looking for a person named Paras.
