The crime branch has moved the City Civil and Sessions Court seeking custody of Imtiyaz Saiyed for further investigation. The crime branch moved the sessions court when the magistrate court rejected their plea for custody of Saiyed. In the application filed on Friday, the agency stated that Saiyed had duped several innocents of their hard-earned money by promising them 10% return on investments every month. They said that as several people were duped in the scam, they needed to dig deeper into it and for the same they need his custody. The police further revealed in the application that around 300 agents worked under Imtiyaz with each heading a team of ten distributors.

The police are yet to get the names and details of the agents and distributors who lured the customers.

The crime branch had on Tuesday produced Saiyed and sought for his police custody for further investigation but the magistrate court had rejected the application following which the prosecution moved a revision application before the sessions court. The application will come up for hearing
on Saturday.
