The CPI-ML (Liberation) today adopted a resolution calling for immediate halt to 'Operation Green Hunt'.

"Conducted on the pretext of combating maoists, Operation Green Hunt has emerged as a witch-hunt to quell all voices of dissent and movements of resistance against neoliberal and pro-corporate policies," the resolution adopted at its National Peasants Conference here said.

Party general secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya also demanded reversal of policies of privatisation, withdrawal of subsidies, unsupportive pricing and marketing policies and neoliberal agricultural trade policies of the UPA government.
   
He said anti-agriculture policies were responsible for continuing farmer suicides inspite of 'cosmetic measures' by the government in the name of loan waiver.

He demanded universalisation of of PDS, inclusion of all unorganised workers, agricultural workers, small and marginal farmers and ill paid employees liks ASHA and Anganwadi workers and para-teachers in the BPL list and provision of 50 kg of foodgrain at Rs two per kg to all poor families.
   
Bhattacharya also demanded immediate halt to 'forcible acquisition' of fertile agricultural land in the state for construction of the Sahebpur Kamal-Munger railway line and the four-laning of Bihta-Sarmera road and said it would resisted by the party.

The party also formed the All India Kisan Mahasabha (AIKM) to fight for implementation of the rights of sharecroppers in Bihar as suggested by the D Bandhopadhyaya Commission.
