Couple arrested for kidnapping two-year-old girl

A couple, who allegedly kidnapped a two-year-old girl from India Gate on Thursday last week and let her off after a day, have been arrested, police sources said today.
 
The couple Jugal Kishore and Rekha, who had gone out
of Delhi after the girl's missing case hogged limelight, was caught by a team of Delhi Police from outside the national capital, they said.
 
They are being taken to the capital, they said without revealing from where the couple was picked up.
 
Gungun was found at a temple 40 hours after she went missing from India Gate on Thursday. The girl had come to India Gate with her parents.
 
While parents went to the car to get some food, Gungun, who was playing with a balloon, went missing.
 
According to sources, the couple residing in west Delhi's Raghubir Nagar had lost their daughter to illness and desperately wanted a girl. They have a son.
 
When the news of girl going missing hogged headlines, sources said, they became frightened and abandoned the girl at a temple in central Delhi's Jhandewalah area.
