Conman Jadeja, associates assaulted on court campus

Ashok Jadeja, the prime accused in money multiplying scam, and his associates were beaten up at Ahmedabad rural court, Mirzapur, by lawyers and people belonging to Chhara community.

This happened on Thursday afternoon when CID (crime) officials brought Jadeja and other accused to the court. Sources said the lawyers and Chhara people were irked over the 'VIP treatment' Jadeja got from police.

On Wednesday, sources said, when Jadeja and other accused were brought to Mirzapur court for production, they could be seen having mashala and talking on cellphone. When some lawyers objected to this, Jadeja got angry and allegedly abused some of them.

Sources said that when Jadeja was again brought to court on Thursday, lawyers and chhara people were already present there in large numbers. They again raised objection to Jadeja talking on cellphone. This time, however, even before Jadeja could react, an angry mob attacked him and his aides. Quick intervention by police only saved Jadeja from mob's fury, sources said.
