Congress workers in Bihar to intensify agitation against KS Sudarshan

Demanding an imposition of ban on the RSS, Bihar Congress today threatened to intensify its agitation against former RSS chief KS Sudarshan if he failed to apologise to the party and its president Sonia Gandhi for his reported derogatory remarks against her.

"We demand imposition of ban on the RSS... all the organisations should take suo moto cognisance of Sudarshan's irresponsible remarks and take necessary steps against him," state Congress president Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser told reporters.

"We will intensify our agitation after the elections in Bihar if Sudarshan fails to apologise to the Congress and its president for his irresponsible statement," he said.

Meanwhile, state youth Congress activists held protests in the state capital against Sudarshan.

Around 12 state party activists were arrested for holding demonstration in violation of the prohibitory orders in force in the state capital.

State youth Congress activists led by its president Lalan Kumar held protests demanding that the former RSS chief apologise to the nation and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for his derogatory remarks.

The RSS should immediately remove Sudarshan from the organisation, Kumar said.

Several state youth activists of the party brought out a procession to burn Sudarshan's effigy.

Policemen later detained them for holding demonstration in violation of the prohibitory orders promulgated under Section 144 of CrPC, official sources said.

Hundreds of party activists held protests near the busy Frazer Road roundabout and burnt an effigy of Sudarshan.
