Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Sunday claimed the misunderstanding between the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) over appointment of administrators to the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) has been resolved.
He was speaking to reporters at Mahabaleshwar. “There is no animosity between the two parties. The move of the Reserve Bank of India to dissolve the board and appoint administrators to the bank had caused some misunderstanding. But it has now been resolved,” he said.

“It does not mean that there are no hurdles in the MSCB. However, we will jointly work for laying a strong foundation for the bank once again,” he said.

Chavan claimed that before the central bank’s move, at one instance he had talked with the NCP chief and Union agriculture minister, Sharad Pawar, about the issues concerning the MSCB.
Chavan said he will visit the taluka places for reviewing development works. “The development of the state will be done jointly by the NCP and the Congress and none of the parties will take any credit,” he said.

Chavan said the appointment of chairpersons to government-run corporations will be done in a few weeks. The CM said the decision of increasing petrol prices was taken by the oil companies. “The increase in prices will pinch the common man. Thus, the government will have to work to control fuel prices,” he said.
