Congress member angry over Mamata's remark in Rajya Sabha

A Rajya Sabha member from the ruling Congress today took exception to railway minister Mamata Banerjee's remarks that money for the railways would not come from the heavens.
   
"How can you say this?" Praveen Rashtrapal said in the Upper House during Banerjee's reply to a debate on the Railway Budget.
   
When Banerjee objected to his comments, Rashtrapal walked out in protest.
   
Defending involvement of the private sector in Railway infrastructure projects, she said, "Where will the money come from? It will not drop from the heavens."
   
Banerjee said Railways would require Rs1 lakh crore for clearing pending projects.
   
Stung by Rashtrapal's remarks that some ministers were "not obeying" discipline of the government, Banerjee had left the House yesterday.
   
Rashtrapal had said, "...there are ministers who are not obeying the discipline of the government in spite of being in the Cabinet...Once you join a government, you are supposed to obey the prime minister and the decision taken in the Union Cabinet."
   
Both the Rajya Sabha members belonging to Banerjee's Trinamool Congress had abstained from voting on the Women's Bill on March 9.
