Congress likely to win Speaker and deputy Speaker's posts in AP

The Congressmen, elected to the state assembly for the second time, are likely to be declared elected unopposed tomorrow in the absence of other candidates for the posts.

Wanglin Lowangdong and Tapang Taloh today filed nominations for the posts of  speaker and deputy speaker respectively in the newly elected 60-member Arunachal Pradesh assembly.

The Congressmen, elected to the state assembly for the second time, are likely to be declared elected unopposed tomorrow in the absence of other candidates for the posts.

The ruling Congress has 42 MLAs, NCP and Trinamool Congress five each, Peoples Party of Arunachal 4, BJP 3 and one Independant, who were administered the oath earlier in the day by pro-tem speaker CT Mein. The first session of the fifth assembly which began today will continue till November 6.
