The first signs of bickering were showing in the Goa Congress with the party's decision to allot 33% of seats to the kin of sitting legislators being blamed for its poor showing in the assembly elections.

"Everyone knows which issues I was raising. You know what they are. The issue of family raj was most crucial which I think the people have not liked," Mauvin Godinho, a former election campaign chief of the Congress and one of those who have won, said.

Goa voted March 3 for a new 40-member assembly.
