Congress accuses government of role in Rs500 crore scam

The Congress has accused the BJP government of corruption in connection with implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Shaktisinh Gohil, leader of the opposition in state assembly, alleged that though on paper there are 2.65 lakh bori bandh in Gujarat, few exist in reality.

Moreover, the expense shown for each dam is Rs10,000, which is an exaggeration, indicating a corruption scam of over Rs500 crore over the past year.
