Cold conditions intensify in Punjab and Haryana

Cold conditions intensified in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh as the minimum temperature recorded a drop of two to four degrees Celsius against normal.

Rohtak district in Haryana remained the coldest place in the region as its minimum temperature was recorded 2.2 degree Celsius, dipping by four degrees against normal, MET office said here today.

Ambala recorded a low of 5.3 C, while Karnal recorded a minimum of 6 degrees C. Narnaul recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degree Celsius.

However, Hisar district in Haryana observed mercury rising by two degrees as the low settled at 7.8 degree Celsius.

Chandigarh recorded the day temperature at 6.2 degree Celsius.

In Punjab, Ludhiana recorded a minimum temperature of 5.6 degree Celsius, down by one degree against normal.

While mercury in Patiala recorded a low of 6.3 degree Celsius, which was one degree less than normal. Amritsar recorded a low of 4.4 degree Celsius.
