Clerk arrested for accepting bribe in Rourkela

Rourkela: A head-clerk of the Sub-Registration department was caught red-handed by the vigilance squad today while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.2000, official sources said.

The clerk Nityanand Behera had demanded Rs2,500 from a man Khan Hamid Khan and took Rs500 in advance asking him to pay the remaining Rs2000 to hand over land documents.

Khan informed the vigilance police which laid a trap and arrested Behera from his office.
