Ahmedabad Chemist Association's function on Sunday turned violent after two groups clashed in the middle of the event. Cross complaints (non-cognisable offence complaints) were filed by both the parties in the Ghatlodia police station.

In the first complaint, Upendra Pancholi has alleged that a group comprising of members of the association, Jagdish Tiwari,
Suresh Patel, Sunil Surti and Kamlesh Shah barged into the Kanak party plot during the course of the event and created a ruckus resorting to physical assault.

Sources said that in another complaint, Jagdish Tiwari, a member of the association alleged that Jasu Patel, Ashutosh Mehta, Bipin Patel, Nitin Patel, Munna Khatri and one Subhash Sharma prevented him from entering the party plot even when he had a pass. On the other hand, Devsi Ghelani, vice president of Ahmedabad Chemist Association, alleged that Suresh Patel and others tried to ruin the function with aid of non-members. "They tried to get crash the function on basis of duplicate entry passes," said Ghelani.

Ghatlodia police inspector, MU Pathan said, "Investigations are on in the matter. Further investigation will be done once the medical certificate of Tiwari is received."
