Chargesheet in Naroda Patia case to be filed today

Charges in the Naroda Patia case are likely to be framed on September 29. The designated courts looking after Naroda Patia case opened the case on Friday and apprised the accused of their charges under section 226 of CrPC.

The prosecution appraised each accused of the charges they are likely to be framed against in the case. The way for the court to frame charges was cleared with the accused people withdrawing their plea from Gujarat High Court wherein they had opposed court and prosecution's bid to club 27 different cases together for the purpose of trial. 

Earlier, Jyotsnaben Yagnik, judge for designated court for trail of riot cases had ordered to club all the cases of the incident in a bid to facilitate framing of a common charge sheet against all the accused in the Naroda Patia case in one session case. 

The prosecution pleaded before the court to combine all the cases stating that seven different charge sheets have been filed by investigating officer, and all arise from offences registered with Naroda police station.
