Accusing the Centre of prosecuting patriots for the sake of vote bank politics, BJP today asked as to why not RSS leader Indresh Kumar was made an accused in Ajmer Dargah blast case when investigating agencies had evidence against him.

"We neither believe in violence, nor support it. If the investigating agencies had evidence against Kumar in Ajmer Dargah blasts why they shied away from making him accused. Even Kumar himself has asked this question," BJP spokesperson Tarun Vijay told reporters in Indore.

Kumar's name figures in the chargesheet filed by the Rajasthan ATS yesterday against five accused in the 2007 Ajmer blast.

Vijay said the central government has conspicuously coined the term "saffron terrorism" to create unhealthy atmosphere and prosecute patriots.

"When separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani speaks against the country in a meeting right under the nose of the government in Delhi, why no action is taken against him," he quipped.

When asked about Congress spokesperson Mohan Prakash equating Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi with socialist leader Jai Prakash Narayan, Vijay said that during emergency the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had got JP arrested.

Vijay, in a lighter vein, asked, "Is Congress by equating Rahul with JP admitting that it had made a mistake by arresting the socialist leader?"
