Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh today claimed that the UPA government had failed to build diplomatic pressure against China following launch of an online mapping service by the neighbouring country which showed Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as its parts.

"The Centre has failed to build up diplomatic pressure effectively and also failed to raise this issue at the international level against China though India can do so in the light of heavy volume of trade with that country," the former BJP chief told a press conference in Patna.

He also slammed the Centre for its 'soft-pedalling' on border issues related to China and Pakistan.

Singh alleged that the Centre had also failed to stop the smuggling of fake currency from across the borders.

"It is a well known fact that a printing press in Quetta in Pakistan is involved in manufacturing fake currency which enter India through Nepal." India should ask Germany to stop supplying ink and paper to Pakistan, he said.
