Central Crime Station to probe attack on MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi

Andhra Pradesh government today handed over the probe into the attack on Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen(MIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi to the Central Crime Station (CCS) even as his condition continues to be critical.
   
"The case has been transferred to CCS for a thorough investigation," state home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy told media persons after visiting Care Hospital at Banjara Hills where Akbaruddin was shifted last night.
   
The CCS will be assisted in investigation by teams of different wings of Hyderabad police.
   
Meanwhile, doctors at Care Hospital today conducted another surgery on Akbaruddin for his abdominal injuries besides his left limb injury, however, his condition remains critical, a senior health official told PTI.
   
"A second surgery was conducted on him (Akbaruddin). Compared to this morning, his condition is fine but still remains to be critical. Though he is still on ventilator support and put on dialysis in view of acute kidney failure. It will take some more time and once these (ventilator and dialysis) systems are withdrawn, we can be able to tell on his exact health status," he explained.
   
A group of ten assailants attacked the MIM MLA yesterday with sharp weapons and fire arms near the MIM office at Barkas locality under Chandrayangutta assembly constituency.
   
Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan said that a joint team comprising senior officials of Detective Department, South Zone and a Task Force were set up to assist CIS in the investigation.
