The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will expand its scope of probe and bring under its net other IPS officers allegedly involved in the Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case. The central agency is expected to question as many as four IPS officers in the near future.

A source close to the development said that Rajkot commissioner Geetha Johri will be questioned. Apart from her, the CBI will grill Vipul Aggarwal, retired IPS officer OP Mathur and suspended IPS officer DG Vanzara.

CBI, which had seized hard disks from the office of Inspector General of Police (IGP), is expected to establish the roles of these officers involved in the case.

However, no official confirmed fresh arrest of any of these officers. Source said, “The sleuths have gathered information and are trying to procure corroborative evidence in the case.”

“CID was investigating the case and immediately after it sought permission to question Prajapati, he was killed in the encounter,” a source familiar with the development said. The CBI sleuths want to cross-check the details available after recording different statements in this connection.
