Cardiac care unit launched in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: IPCARD Cardiac Care Center in association with Wockhardt Hospitals today launched its state of the art Cardiac research and training center.

The center will provide patient care and also undertake research on cardiac issues as well as train general physicians for them to have a better understanding of cardiac related problems.

Disclosing this at a press conference here today Dr A M Tirug Nana, senior interventional cardiologist at IPCARD Cardiac Care center said that this 24 hours emergency ICCU facility with ten beds for emergency patients is only of its kind cardiac care center which provides care from primary to tertiary care at affordable cost.

Dr Tirugnana said that in addition to cardiac care the center will also undertake research by using profile of patients.

He said the Centre has decided to train general physicians because 90% of the patients first approach their physicians in case of heart problem.

The training will be of a duration of six months to one year at a nominal price. He said that IPCARD cardiac care center is the unit of International Institute of Preventive Cardiology and would be a boon for cardiac emergency which can prove fatal if not attended to immediately, he said.
