A businessman was shot dead in Vapi by some unidentified persons today, police said.

"Jayanti Lal Nahar was shot dead by his rival group late last night. Business rivalry could be the reason behind the incident," they said.

A case under IPC 302 has been registered in this connection and manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits, they added.
