Businessman looted of gold jewellery worth Rs10 lakh in Bijnor

A businessman dealing in gold ornaments was robbed of jewellery worth Rs10 lakh by three motorcycle-borne youths here, who threw chilli powder in to his eyes, police said today. Narendra Singh, a resident of Amritsar was on a business trip here yesterday, when he was looted.

The robbers threw chilli powder into his eyes, snatched his bag of jewellery and escaped, they said. The registration number of the motorcycle was noted by the locals, SP Raj Kumar said, adding that investigation in the case is on.
