The chief judicial magistrate(CDM) of Baghpat district has summoned four persons, including a BSP MLA, in connection with a criminal case.

CDM G Prasad yesterday directed BSP MLA from Bulandshahr Jai Bhagwan alias Guddu Pandit and his three associates Praveen Sharma, Bablu Kaushik and Lalu Sharma to appear before the court on August 16.

The four persons are accused of attacking and injuring district Congress secretary Mahesh Sharma when he opposed their attempt to disrupt polling in Hasanpur village during the Lok Sabha elections in May 2009, prosecution said.

Sharma has alleged in his complaint that Jai Bhagwan and his supporters tried to disrupt polling at a booth in Hasanpur and attacked him, robbing him of his money.
