The Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL) is busy planning operation of the next corridor at the earliest.

With first stretch of the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) all set for launch on October 14, the Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL) is busy planning operation of the next corridor at the earliest. To expand BRTS routes in the city, the AJL plans to make the routes from Pirana to Dhor Bajar to Maninagar railway station and from Danilimda to Pirana operational by January next year.
AJL chairman IP Gautam said the work on the stretch from Pirana to Maninagar and Danilimda to Pirana is going on in full swing. “The two stretches will together be around 11-km-long. We plan to complete work on both the stretches soon,” he said.
If everything goes as per plan, BRTS will be operational on around 22-km route by January next, with RTO to Chandranagar stretch being 12.5 km..
On Tuesday, Gautam held a meeting with traffic police to chalk out operation plan of traffic signals and IT and ITES system in BRTS stretch.
