Bootlegger rams cops’ vehicle, escapes in Ahmedabad

Three constables on the lookout for a bootlegger gets 'stung' by his Scorpio instead, when the accused was trying his best to give the cops the slip!

These three constables were waiting in two private cars were reportedly hit by the bootlegger driving the car in Naroda, late on Saturday night.

Two of the policemen suffered minor injuries in the incident, while the bootlegger, who is yet to be identified, made good his escape.

According to Naroda police, three cops - Girijasinh, Rudradattsinh and Sahiramsinh -were waiting in their cars at Dahegam-Naroda Ring Road to nab the bootlegger. At 12.30 am, they spotted him driving a Scorpio and asked him to stop the car.

However, the driver didn't pay heed top their instructions and instead drove into their cars and escaped before they could react, police sources said.

Although the constables survived the incident, two of them, Rudradattsinh and Sahiramsinh, sustained injuries in several parts of their body. Naroda police have registered a case in this regard.
