Bomb threat in Gujarat HC turns out to be hoax

According to police sources, at around 12 in the afternoon, the police control room got a call about a bomb being planted in the premises of the Gujarat High Court.

A call about a bomb being planted in the Gujarat High Court had the bomb squad and local police busy for some time in the city.

Soon a search operation was launched and it lasted for almost four to five hours. But the police did not find any bomb and the call turned out to be hoax. The search operations, however, did not interrupt court proceedings.

According to police sources, at around 12 in the afternoon, the police control room got a call about a bomb being planted in the premises of the Gujarat High Court.

The control room immediately informed the Sola police and a team of dog squad and bomb squad was called in. Soon another team joined them. All the offices including that of the court of Chief Justice were checked.

HM Kundalia, police inspector, Sola High Court told DNA that police received a call from the control room and immediately began a search operation.  "But we found nothing," he said.
Police sources said that the cyber branch of crime branch is investigating the case and is tracking the caller and the motive behind the call.
