Bodies of 3 students fished out from river in Amritsar

Three Class IX students Harpal Singh, Nishan Singh and Gurpreet Singh, studying in Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya, went to the river last evening to wash their uniform and take a bath when they were swept away by the flow of the river.

The bodies of three students, who were feared drowned, were today retrieved from the Beas river in Tarn Taran district of Punjab.

Three Class IX students Harpal Singh, Nishan Singh and Gurpreet Singh, studying in Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya, went to the river last evening to wash their uniform and take a bath when they were swept away by the flow of the river.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has declared Rs1 lakh compensation to the families of the victims.
