BL Soni becomes Jaipur's first police commissioner

The new police commissionerate system in Rajasthan came into force on Friday night with BL Soni and BK Dak becoming Jaipur and Jodhpur police commissioners, respectively.

Inspector general of police (Jaipur range-I) Soni and inspector general of police (Jodhpur range) Dak were promoted to the post of police commissioner late on Friday night, an official source said.

Thirteen other police officers were also promoted to various other posts.

The Ashok Gehlot government had earlier announced its decision to implement the commissionerate system in Rajasthan's two biggest cities.
