Indicating a stormy budget session of the state Assembly, Delhi BJP today said they will strongly raise the issue of price rise and hike in prices of petrol and diesel in the floor of the house.
The budget session of the assembly begins on Monday.
"We will raise these very strongly," senior party leader VK Malhotra told reporters after a legislative party meeting.
He said to protest government's failure to rein in price rise, all the BJP legislators would come to the assembly on bicycle on Monday.
"We will gather near Tees Hazari courts and then come to the assembly on bicycle," he said.
Malhotra, the leader of the opposition in the Assembly, said the party will also organise demonstrations in the city in the coming days to protest price rise and hike in prices of petrol and diesel.
He said issues such as "deteriorating" law and order situation and government's "failure" to regularise the unauthorised colonies will also be raised strongly in the assembly.
"We will also raise issues such as delays in construction of hotels, stadia, flyovers, roads and other development projects for the Commonwealth Games," he added.
Malhotra said the "purposeful delay" in processing the file pertaining to the mercy-petition of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru will also be raised.
Meanwhile, the BJP Delhi Pradesh Yuva Morcha today started a signature campaign in the city to protest against price rise of essential commodities.
