With BJP leader LK Advani entering the last leg of his anti-graft road show, scheduled to end here on November 20, his party has stepped up its combative agenda for the winter session of parliament beginning on November 22.

Demanding the dismissal of the Congress-led government of Ibobi Singh in Manipur and imposition of president’s rule there, BJP leader Yashwant Sinha told reporters here on Friday the time has arrived for the UPA Government to take “decisive action.”

He accused the chief minister of “financially supporting” insurgents in that state and said that an all-party delegation from Delhi needed to be sent there to assess the ground situation.

Having sought an explanation from prime minister Manmohan Singh for calling his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raaza Gilani “a man of peace”, Sinha said Singh would have to explain “to the nation the parameters” for such a “certificate.”

“Should the Government of India be in the business of issuing certificates to heads of other governments, especially of Pakistan?” Sinha said adding even if the Congress party was trying to work out a strategy of dealing with Pakistan in a different way, it should elaborate.

According to Sinha, the country’s economic situation is grim, despite a marginal fall in inflation.”
