BJP today staged a walkout from Jammu and Kashmir assembly alleging discrimination against Jammu by the government while promoting tourism potential of the state.

What prompted the party was the tourism minister Rigzin Jora's answer to a question that the government has created a separate Development Authority for ensuring the promotion and development of tourism in Bhaderwah.

He further said the Authority has also been included under prime minister Reconstruction Programme (PMRP) for financial assistance of Rs 20 crore to develop tourism related infrastructure in a big way.

Hearing this, BJP Member Ashok Gupta, who had asked the supplementaries, alleged that nothing is being done for the promotion and development of the tourism infrastructure in Jammu.

The minister, however, said that various schemes are under execution in Jammu and uplift of Mubarak Mandi, Peerkho,
ropeway and lake is under progress.

However, other BJP members also joined Gupata and alleged that more funds are being given to Kashmir and Jammu is being neglected.

They later staged a walkout from the House.
