Chief minister Narendra Modi, state BJP president Purshottam Rupala and over 150 delegates will take part in the meeting.
Several issues will be discussed during the daylong meet for which peaceful solutions will be sought. However, the primary focus of the meeting will be on polls for Junagadh municipality, by-elections for assembly seats and upcoming civic polls across the state.
To be held in Gandhinagar under the leadership of Rupala, the meeting will see party members formally discuss the results of the parliamentary elections, upcoming by-election for seven assembly seats and civic polls scheduled next year. However, sources in the party say that the meet will be void of any sort of blame-game over the unexpected results in the general elections.
“The meeting of state executive committee will not be as stormy as the national executive meeting held in New Delhi recently," said a senior party leader. "Party members will essentially talk on lines of BJP's success in securing one seat more than it had got in 2004 despite unfavourable election results in other state," he added.
In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had secured 14 seats while losing six from its tally in 1999, despite the fact that BJP had formed the government in the state in 2002. This election, the party had expected to secure at least 20 seats, but it got only 15.
