BJP leader booked for derogatory remarks at lady officer in Madhya Pradesh

A local BJP leader was today booked for allegedly passing derogatory remarks at a woman employee of revenue department after she refused to do an unlawful favour to him, police said.

The district BJP vice president Devi Singh Sankhla phoned the lady officer Jyoti Dubey and asked her to come of office in the collectorate, police said.

The accused asked an unlawful favour in connection with a land title from her and when she refused, he tore off some government papers she was carrying and passed some derogatory remarks at the lady, they said.

Jyoti is the daughter of district BJP Mahilla Morcha president.

On the complaint of the victim, Sankhla has been booked under relevant sections of IPC, Harda staton house officer (SHO) Mahendra Singh Meena said, adding further investigation was underway.
