Bihar BJP president CP Thakur today urged the Centre to enact a legislation to empower constitutional watchdogs to monitor execution of development projects of Rs 100 crores or more to stem corruption and scams.
Empowering constitutional watchdogs like the CVC would stem scams and corruption at the very outset, he said to the alleged irregularities over the allocation of 2G spectrum.
Expressing worry that scams now involve thousands of crores of rupees, he said they are a 'blot' to the country when it was set to become a global power.
The issue should be tackled in right earnest as it was impinging upon both economy and development, he added.
