The BJP core group today decided that it will demand the resignation of telecom minister A Raja in the wake of his reported indictment by CAG in 2G spectrum allocation and reiterate its demand for JPC probe into the issue as also CWG and Adarsh housing society scams.

Top BJP sources said the core group reached a decision on demanding Raja's ouster after the CAG submitted his report to the government today.

The resignation of Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan and removal of Suresh Kalmadi from a key post in Congress party have come as a shot in the arm for BJP which feels this is the right to demand Raja's exit from union cabinet.

The CAG report said the price at which the spectrum was alloted in 2008 was based on 2001 prices, which was quite low and has resulted in a loss to the government exchequer.
The report also said Raja ignored the advice of the law ministry and the prime minister and advanced the cut-off date for giving the Letter of Intent (LoI).
