Bihar plan size to be raised to Rs24,000 crore next year

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today said his government proposes to raise the state's plan size to Rs24,000 crore next fiscal from Rs18,000 crore this year.

"The state cabinet has already given its nod to the five-year roadmap for governance," Kumar told newspersons at his first weekly 'Janata Darbar' since assuming office for the second term.

He said a new industrial policy was also on the anvil and would come into being in the next fiscal. The new policy would be a more effective and investment friendly.

"The industrial policy formulated by us in 2006 has came to end. We have extended its term up to March 2011. The thrust of the new industrial policy would be to ensure investment and entrepreneur-friendly climate for industrial growth," he said.

Under it the state industrial promotion board and single-window facility for entrepreneurs would be made more attractive, Kumar added.
