The CBI is likely to file another charge sheet before special court in Jodhpur in Bhanwari Devi case accusing sacked minister Mahipal Singh Maderna and Congress MLA Malkhan Singh of conspiring to kill the nurse.

CBI sources said the charge sheet may be filed tomorrow. The charge sheet will elaborate on the murder conspiracy. The CBI claimed that there was enough evidence with the agency to nail Maderna and Malkhan Singh in the case.

The agency had filed a charge sheet in the case in December last year but Singh and Maderna were not named in it.

The sources in the agency said the auxiliary nurse had been strangulated and later burnt. Her ashes along with belongings were dumped in the nearby Rajiv Gandhi canal.

One of the accused had told the CBI that her watch was also dumped in the canal prompting the agency to seek help of the Rajasthan government in stopping the water flow to enable the investigators to look for evidence.

The CBI had found the replaced latch of the watch from the residence of Bhanwari and it was identified by her son.

The sources said that some of the political leaders in the state were aware of the conspiracy to murder her.

The case sparked a political storm in Rajasthan leading to sacking of Mahipa Maderna as water resources minister.

He is at present in jail.

Another Congress Legislator Malkhan Singh Bishnoi was also arrested by the CBI while his sister Indra Bishnoi is absconding.
