Are anti-national elements looking at Bangalore as a route to smuggle Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) from Pakistan though Dubai, to distribute them to other parts of the nation and destroy the Indian Economy?

The National Investigating Agency (NIA) claimed that Bangalore is the new route to smuggle FICN, while local police denied the claim, saying it is impossible to smuggle FICN to Bangalore directly from Dubai. The smugglers have to fly in the FICN directly to the Bangalore and by doing so, they would get caught at airport itself.

The police said the FICN are smuggled to India from Nepal and Bangladesh and that in most FICN cases in city, the fake currency has come from Nepal and Bangladesh. “We are not aware about NIA’s claims. The NIA will investigate their case further,” B Dayananda, Joint Commissioner of Police for Crime (east) said.
