Azaharuddin, Joshi booked for violating model code in poll-bound UP

Authorities have registered cases against Congress MP from Moradabad and former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azaharuddin, state Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi and two others for violating the model code of conduct in the poll-bound state.

Apart from Joshi and Azhar, RLD candidate from Khatauli constituency of the district Kartar Singh Bhadana and pilot of their chopper were also booked for violating the election code in Jasnath town of the district on Saturday.

The leaders, who had arrived here for campaigning, were accused of getting their chopper to land in the area without taking prior permission from the district authorities.
