An audio clip is all set to reveal the mystery behind the death of a 22-year-old young man last year.  The one-minute audio clip, reportedly made by the man before his death, is being relied upon by his relatives to prove that it was a murder, not an accidental
death.

The Naroda police are preparing to send the audio clip to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for voice spectography test. The police will also send to FSL the motorcycle driven by deceased Mukesh Thakor for certain tests. This is being done after Mukesh's relatives approached the court of law, claiming that the boy was murdered by his friends. The police had lodged an accidental case, meaning that Mukesh died in a road accident.

The case came to Naroda police through Gujarat high court and Metropolitan court. "We have received the court's order and are sending the audio clip and the motorcycle for scientific tests to the FSL, in order to know whether it was an accident or a murder," said Vijay Pattani, investigation officer for the case. "We can't say anything as of now as investigations are going on. As the audio is quite unclear, it is necessary to send the clip to the FSL," he added.

Though the relatives of the deceased claim that Mukesh was murdered, they cannot say why that could have happened. However, sources claimed that the incident occurred because of Mukesh's involvement with a girl.

"We have demanded that the case be investigated properly as the audio clip, likely to have been taken prior to the death, is very important evidence," said DM Ahuja, counsel for the boy's uncle Khodaji Thakor. "The police have lodged an accident complaint but it is glaringly visible that there are hardly any signs of an accident, apart from a minor dent on the Pulsar motorcycle's fuel tank," he added.

The incident occurred on March 12, 2009. Mukesh met his friends, including Popatji, at Ramdevnagar in Nava Naroda. Popatji suggested to Mukesh to accompany him to his in-laws' place and stay there overnight. Mukesh agreed and accompanied Popatji on a bike.

Around 11 pm, Mukesh's uncle Khodaji got a call from Popatji advising him to go to Rudraksh hospital in Naroda as Mukesh had met with an accident. When Khodaji and other family members reached the hospital, the doctors said that Mukesh had been brought dead. Popatji, on his part, said that Mukesh died as his bike collided with an electric pole.

Khodaji accused Popatji, his brother and others. "We recovered an audio clip from Mukesh's cellphone, in which the accused are compelling him to confess something, and Mukesh is gasping for breath.

Besides, if the bike had actually collided with a pole, it should have been damaged at the rear end as well, and not just near the fuel tank.

The post-mortem report also suggests many internal or external injuries," said Khodaji.
