Assistant sub inspector held on sodomy charges in Patna

An assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Police JP Tiwari has been arrested on the charge of attempting to sodomize a body at Daroga Rai path here, Senior superintendent of police Amit Jain said.

The ASI was also placed under suspension today, Jain said.

According to an FIR lodged against the ASI, Jain said Tiwari had allegedly attempted to sodomise a boy yesterday who earlier used to massage his hands and legs.

Locals had yesterday collected here and assaulted Tiwari before handing him over to police when the boy raised an alarm at the time when the ASI made an abortive sodomy bid.
