Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj today said that the BJP will pressurise the Centre to rope in the army to fight Naxals in the affected areas.

"BJP leadership wants that services of army should be used in the Naxal-hit areas of the country to thereby put an end to the problem," Sushma told reporters at a press conference here.

The senior BJP leader was in the district to participate in the price rise protests.

There are no two-views in the BJP over the Naxal menace and the party will pressurise the Centre in the upcoming monsoon session to utilise the army in the extremists-hit areas, Sushma said.

"The Centre is in a fix over using army in these areas. It should give up this attitude," she said.

Sushma also paid tributes to the slain jawans and said that the killings of para-military forces in the state should be stopped.

Chief minister Raman Singh, who was also present on the occasion, said that he had spoken to home minister P Chidambaram about bringing in the army on the suggestions of defence experts to flush out Maoists.

The BJP MP said that she had taken the addresses of all the jawans who were killed in the Narayanpur Naxal attack and she will meet the kin of the victims to extend her condolences.
